Tetbury

The King's local, priced accordingly·Gloucestershire·South West England

Tetbury got rich selling wool in the Middle Ages and has spent every century since selling the furniture that money bought. Long Street is antique shops end to end, priced for people who say "piece" when they mean chair. The King's garden is just down the road at Highgrove, and the town has never let a visitor forget it, which is why it got his shop and you only get his postcode. Once a year grown adults race a sack of wool up Gumstool Hill, the only thing in town that changes hands without a provenance.
