Nailsworth
Nailsworth is a mill town at the bottom of a Cotswold valley that lost its railway in 1947 and has expected everyone to turn up by car since. W. H. Davies, the tramp poet, lived out his last years here, which is the last recorded case of someone moving to Nailsworth with nothing and being allowed to stay. The mills stopped turning long ago, and the valley is now run by people who left Bristol to slow down and have been extremely busy about it ever since.
