We keep this short and honest: what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the control you have.
Who we are
beforeibuy.co.uk is operated by 6 Canvas Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14720423), whose registered office is Flat 6 Thurlow Mansions, 29 Clarence Parade, Southsea PO5 2ET. We (“we”) are the data controller for the personal data described here. For any privacy question, email hello@beforeibuy.co.uk.
What we collect
We do not ask you for any personal data. There is no sign up, no account, and no email collection. Our hosting and security providers process your IP address automatically to serve the site and protect it from abuse, and their logs expire on their own schedules.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
Our lawful basis for the automatic logging above is our legitimate interest in serving the site and keeping it available. We send no marketing email, because we hold no address to send one to.
If you email us
If you write to hello@beforeibuy.co.uk, we use your message and the address you wrote from only to answer you and deal with what you raised. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us. We keep the correspondence while we deal with it, and then for up to 12 months in case you come back to us about the same thing, after which we delete it. It is held by our email provider, acting on our instructions.
Cookies
We store two things on your device, both of them choices you made while browsing: which regions you expanded on the places list, and where you had panned the map. See our cookie policy for the full list and how to manage them.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers that run the site, each acting on our instructions:
- Cloudflare, to store and serve the images and content on our pages.
- Vercel, for hosting.
- Our email provider, which holds any email you send us.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.
How long we keep it
Unless you email us (see above), we hold no record about you. The only other data that touches our providers is the automatic server and security logging described above, which expires on their own short schedules.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- show you the data we hold about you;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- send it to you or another provider in a portable form.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
