Iver Heath
Iver Heath is a triangle of roads that Buckinghamshire never quite got round to turning into a village. Heatherden Hall, where the deal creating the Irish Free State was signed, now earns its keep pretending to be somewhere else on film, which is more ambition than the rest of the place has shown since the post office shut in 2020. The parade of shops on Church Road is mostly remembered rather than visited, and every garden gets the same soundtrack: traffic heading for Heathrow, London and anywhere that still has a high street.
