Henfield

A village where everyone's other half plays golf.·West Sussex·South East England

Henfield is what happens when a West Sussex village decides it has done quite enough thank you, and would now like to stand very still for the next forty years. It is the kind of place where the most exciting thing anyone ever did was invent the postmark, which tells you everything about the local appetite for chaos. The Suffragettes used it as a recovery retreat, presumably because nothing on earth says "regain your strength" like the sound of absolutely nothing happening between the A281 and the A2037. Brighton is twelve miles south and may as well be on a different planet, which is precisely why people move here.
