Ascot, Berkshire

A racecourse that grudgingly lets people live nearby·Berkshire·South East England

Ascot spends fifty-one weeks of the year being very expensive in private and one week being expensive on television in a hat. The racecourse gets the fame, and the residents get a June in which half of London in morning dress parks across their drive. The rest of the year belongs to the golf at Wentworth and long Sunday walks in Windsor Great Park, which is the most Ascot status symbol of all: living next to a forest that belongs to the King.
