Winchcombe

Winchcombe was briefly a county town in the eleventh century and has spent the thousand years since being gracious about the demotion. Its last proper act of rebellion was growing illegal tobacco until the government sent soldiers to dig it up. The most exciting thing to arrive since then was a meteorite from the dawn of the Solar System, and even that had the manners to land on a driveway.
