Speldhurst

Speldhurst is Tunbridge Wells with the volume turned down and the driving turned up. The name is Old English for a wooded hill where wood chips are found, and a thousand years later the wood chips are still here, stacked by the porch for the log burner. People move here to live three miles outside Tunbridge Wells, then spend twenty years correcting anyone who says they live in Tunbridge Wells, while every envelope through the door says exactly that.
