Southborough, Kent
Southborough gets the Tunbridge Wells postcode and none of the credit. The A26 runs straight through the middle, carrying traffic on to somewhere more photographed. The town made cricket balls until 1978, then stopped, and the cricket on the common carried on as if nothing had happened, which is roughly how Southborough has handled every change since. Buyers who wanted the Pantiles and flinched end up here, and it takes them about two winters to stop bringing the Pantiles up.
