Ealing
Ealing calls itself the Queen of the Suburbs and has spent the last century acting as if it never needed London, which gets harder to pull off with the Elizabeth line running through the middle of town. Residents saw off a tram down the Uxbridge Road with the kind of fury most places save for a waste incinerator, and they won. There is a park at the end of most roads and a conservation area round most corners. People who arrive from zone 2 call it a compromise for about a month, then start writing to the council themselves.
