West Ealing
West Ealing is Ealing for buyers who walked an extra three-quarters of a mile down the Uxbridge Road and kept the change. It has the same Elizabeth line and the same borough, plus a high street that still runs the fruit and veg stalls the smarter end found too informal in the 1890s. In 1880 the council banned the donkey races on Jackass Common on moral grounds, and that is still the most exciting thing the place has ever been told off for.
