South Tottenham

A Victoria line stop with a postcode attached·Greater London·London

South Tottenham is the bit of north London that estate agents keep listing as "Stoke Newington borders", as if the postcode were a mild embarrassment to be walked off. The Victoria line at Seven Sisters gets you to the West End before your coffee goes cold, and that is the whole pitch and most of the reason anyone signs a tenancy here. The Edwardian terraces have been carved into flats so many times that the doorbell panels look like the lobby of an office block. Seven Sisters was named after a ring of elm trees that are long gone, which makes them the only locals who got out before the rent went up.
