Upper Holloway

Holloway, standing on tiptoe·Greater London·London

Upper Holloway is Holloway with a promotion that only exists on paper, and the Royal Mail is about the last institution still using the title with a straight face. It's Junction Road and the top end of Holloway Road, all traffic, terraces and buses at every hour, while Highgate looks down from the top of the hill like the neighbour with the better kitchen. Plenty of buyers end up here because Highgate wanted more money than they had, and then they start calling their address "the Highgate borders" before the boxes are unpacked. The hill tells them the truth anyway: walk up it twice a week and the price difference starts to look earned.
