Muswell Hill

Edwardian hilltop that traded its trains for a view·Greater London·London

Muswell Hill is what happens when people choose the view over the Tube and then spend twenty years pretending the bus was part of the plan. The railway that used to climb the hill is now a footpath with two primary schools built across the old line, so anyone campaigning to bring the trains back has to get past the school run first. One of the churches has been turned into a steak house, which is about as honest a statement of local priorities as you will find.
