Finsbury Park

A lovely park with a rush hour attached·Greater London·London

Finsbury Park is a railway interchange that grew a neighbourhood by accident, then got carved up between three councils who each assume one of the others is dealing with it. Haringey got the park, and Islington and Hackney got the pavements where everyone changes trains. Most people arrive meaning to pass through. A surprising number are still here years later, renting one floor of a house built for a single Edwardian family and telling friends it's basically Highbury.
