Stoke Newington
Stoke Newington has been taking in nonconformists since the eighteenth century, and the current lot turn up with a sourdough starter and firm opinions about the bin rota. Church Street is where the dissent gets spent now, mostly on oat milk and second-hand Penguins. There is no Tube, which residents call a choice and everyone else calls the walk from Dalston. The oldest known industry here was making axes on what is now the Common, and the locals still like to sharpen something before they make a point.
