Kentish Town

Close enough to walk to the Heath, but not to afford it·Greater London·London

Kentish Town is where people end up when they wanted Hampstead's Heath and Camden's nightlife and could only afford the walk between them. Karl Marx lived here and called his house "a truly princely dwelling", which makes him the last tenant in the area to say anything that nice about a landlord. Whole grids of streets were named by Oxford and Cambridge colleges, one of which still owns the freehold on some of them, so even the road signs went to a better university than the estate agent.
