Sittingbourne
Sittingbourne spent a few centuries making the bricks London was built from and the newsprint London read, and London has never once sent a thank-you card. Chaucer only mentioned it as somewhere to get to on the way to Canterbury, and the town has treated passing trade with the same shrug ever since. People move here for the fast train to St Pancras and a house with an actual garden, then spend years telling friends it's nicer than it sounds, which is more or less the town's entire marketing strategy.
