Newington, Swale
Newington's name means "new town", which it hasn't been able to say with a straight face since the Saxons. The A2 runs through the middle along the line of Watling Street, so people have been driving through without stopping for two thousand years, and most of them know it only as the bit between Rainham and Sittingbourne. Then in 2019 archaeologists dug up a whole Roman town nearby, temple and all, so the village everyone passes through was once a place people actually came to. It just never mentioned it.
