Moreton-in-Marsh
Moreton-in-Marsh is the Cotswolds for people who need a train to Paddington more than they need a honey-coloured village to themselves. The High Street was laid out wide enough for medieval wool markets, and it now holds day-trippers and lorries on the Fosse Way in about the same proportions. Senior fire officers from all over the country get sent to train on the old bomber airfield east of town, which makes Moreton the one Cotswold address where somebody nearby definitely knows what to do about your chip pan.
