Yapton
Yapton is where you buy when you wanted Arundel and did the maths. The village sits at the intersection of two B-roads in the flat farmland Sussex tourism forgets to photograph, near enough to Bognor Regis that the sea is theoretical rather than actual. Its canal closed in 1855, thirty-two years after opening, because nobody actually wanted it. Its most famous son grew up here, won Olympic gold, and never came back to open the fete.
