Telscombe Cliffs
Telscombe Cliffs is where the south coast gave up on stairs. Street after street of bungalows lines up along the clifftop, each one staring at the Channel like it owes them money, with Brighton close enough to visit and far enough away that the house doesn't come at a Brighton price. The sea is below you, not beside you, so nobody here pretends it's a beach town: they bought the view and left the paddling to Saltdean. Estate agents call it coastal living, and the coast is mostly something you admire over the hedge while the kettle boils.
