Lower Edmonton is a rare bit of London where the name gets the truth out before the estate agent can say a word. It even had a station officially called Lower Edmonton (Low Level), until it closed in 1939, and no branding since has been that honest. Buyers come for a house with a garden at a price inner London stopped quoting years ago, then spend the first month telling friends that "Lower" is just a direction on a map. The friends nod politely and still don't visit.
