Botany Bay
Botany Bay is named after the place Britain shipped people it never wanted to see again, and out on the northern fringe of Enfield the name still feels like a fair description. The hamlet is a road junction with ambitions, The Ridgeway crossing East Lodge Lane, with Enfield Chase pressing in from two sides and the M25 close enough to make leaving feel like a plan. Buyers come for fields instead of fences and get them, along with a car for everything and a station at Crews Hill that is closer to the garden centres than to anyone's front door.
