Cuffley

Rich enough to stay a village on purpose·Hertfordshire·East of England

Cuffley is where a Premier League contract goes to buy a gravel drive and a gate that opens by itself. The village's finest hour was bringing down a German airship over its fields, and it still calls it a Zeppelin even though it wasn't one, which is why the football team is named after the mistake. The former boss of Tesco lived here, and when a Tesco Express was put forward to replace one of the last two pubs, the village fought it harder than it fought the airship. Every little helps, apparently not on this high street.
