Leighton Buzzard

Selling sand to Egypt and commuters to Euston·Bedfordshire·East of England

Leighton Buzzard has run a market since the Domesday Book and still can't get a stranger to say its name without smirking. Even its own railway station turned out to be in Linslade, a problem the town eventually solved by absorbing Linslade. One of the big property websites started here and Connells still runs its head office from the town, so for once the people writing "well-connected market town" on the listings are describing their own commute. The town's most famous night out was the Great Train Robbery, and the robbers only came back because the magistrate made them.
