Tring
Tring is a market town whose railway station was planted well outside it so a lord's estate could keep its distance from the trains, and the commuters have been driving out to meet them ever since. The Rothschilds then gave the town a museum full of stuffed animals, a zebra's head laid into the pavement and a population of edible dormice let loose in the park, which is what happens when a banking dynasty gets bored on a Tuesday. People move here for the Chilterns and the line to Euston, and spend the first month learning which of the two they can walk to.
