Darenth
Darenth had a major Roman villa long before it had a bus to Bluewater, and the Romans at least had the decency to walk. The village is named after a river, keeps its nearest station in somebody else's village, and runs on post-war semis with a second car on the drive. People come for the garden and stay because nobody has worked out how to leave without driving.
