Swanscombe
Swanscombe has the oldest human remains ever found in England and a stretch of main road that slid off a chalk cliff in 2023, and only one of them has had a team of experts turn up to dig it out. The town also claims its men bluffed William the Conqueror into leaving Kent alone by hiding behind branches, a story with roughly the evidence behind it of an estate agent's "up-and-coming". Bluewater and the shiny garden city next door get the attention. Swanscombe gets the bus diversion round the hole.
