Codicote
Æthelred the Unready sold Codicote in 1002 for a heap of pure gold, and nobody has bought anything here cheaply since. It is a chalk-ridge village above the Mimram, close enough to Welwyn to use its station and far enough from Hitchin, its own post town, that the address is mostly paperwork. People move here for the countryside and then buy a car for every adult in the house to get away from it. Kim Wilde got married in St Giles, and the parish has never done anything more rock and roll.
