Redbourn
Redbourn spent the coaching age as the Street of Inns, pouring drink into people on their way somewhere else, then waited half a century for a bypass so the same traffic could ignore it at seventy miles an hour. It got its wish. Cricket has been played on its common since around the time London burned down, and nobody there seems likely to stop for anything as trivial as a motorway next door. It is where people move when they want St Albans close enough to visit and far enough away that St Albans can't visit back.
