Stevenage
Stevenage was Britain's first New Town, which meant it got to make every planning mistake before anyone knew they were mistakes, and then had to live inside them. Its chief engineer loved roundabouts so much he built his own house on one, gave the town a full network of cycleways kept apart from the traffic, and watched everyone get in the car anyway. Most people who mock the place have only ever seen it from the A1(M) on the way to somewhere else. That's a big part of why it's still cheaper than a town this close to King's Cross has any right to be.
