Wroughton

A small town still insisting it's a village·Wiltshire·South West England

Wroughton is a village because the M4 got in the way. Swindon spent the last century spreading south towards it and stopped at the motorway, which left Wroughton free to call itself a village with a small town's population and the civic priorities of a place that once made every pub free because a local horse won the Derby. Residents will tell you they live on the edge of the Downs, and they do. The envelope still says Swindon.
