Purton
Purton is the village the trains stopped stopping at in the sixties, and it has been enjoying the quiet ever since while the line carries on running straight past. It sits on the brow of a hill with a long view across the Thames floodplain towards Cricklade, back turned to Swindon. Swindon took that personally and built a whole new estate inside the parish's eastern edge. An Astronomer Royal spent his career mapping the heavens and still picked Purton churchyard for the long stay, which is the strongest endorsement no estate agent has thought to use.
