Tidworth

Tidworth is a town the Army built, and it has never pretended otherwise. Half the population arrives with posting orders and a leaving date already pencilled in, which does wonders for the pace of things and absolutely nothing for the sense of permanence. The Bronze Age burial mounds up on the Plain have outlasted every regiment that ever marched past them, and they will outlast the next lot too. It is a place that is very good at goodbyes.
