Seaton, Devon

Seaton is what happens when a Roman port silts up, loses its railway, and decides to lean into being nice instead. The beach is shingle, which sorts the committed from the tourists inside about four minutes. Bronze Age farmers, Iron Age forts, a Saxon charter, twenty-two thousand Roman coins buried in a field, and the thing most people arrive for is a heritage tram to Colyton. Nobody comes here to be surprised, and Seaton has no intention of letting them down.
