Lyme Regis

A holiday let with a town attached·Dorset·South West England

Lyme Regis has spent two hundred years being visited by people who write things down. Jane Austen put the harbour wall in a novel, the fossil hunters made the cliffs famous by prising the Jurassic out of them, and the town has been dining out on both ever since with a straight face and a gift shop. The cliffs, for their part, keep sliding into the sea, which is either a geological process or the town's own opinion of the attention.
