Rudgwick
Rudgwick lost its railway in 1965 and has been getting in the car ever since. The man who dreamt up The Magic Roundabout grew up here, and the village still runs on the same principle: pleasant, sleepy, and nobody goes anywhere unless someone drives. Its most famous discovery is a dinosaur dug out of the brickworks, the only new arrival the village has welcomed without asking where it plans to park.
