Mayland, Essex
In 1906 a back-to-the-land idealist bought the farm that became Mayland and carved it into plots for people who fancied growing their own, and a century on the main crop is bungalows. The northern end calls itself Maylandsea, which is a lot of name for a creek off the Blackwater. Nobody ends up in Mayland by accident, mostly because nobody ends up anywhere near the Dengie Peninsula by accident.
