Limpsfield
Limpsfield is the posh end of Oxted, and it would rather you didn't put it that way. It sits at the foot of the North Downs with a National Trust common instead of a back garden. Sir Thomas Beecham spent his career championing Delius and now lies a few yards from him in the churchyard, which is the only way into this village that doesn't need a mortgage offer. The Abbot of Battle's old manor court has been standing since the twelfth century, and that tells you how the place feels about change: you move here to be left alone in good taste, and the village will hold you to both.
