South Nutfield
South Nutfield is the bit of Surrey that got a railway station and decided that would do for a personality. It sits one stop from Redhill, which is close enough to feel rural and still hear the motorway. Up the hill, Bletchingley has the medieval high street and the castle earthworks; down here you get the Weald, the lakes at Mercers for anyone who owns a wetsuit, and a village that grew up around the platform rather than the church. People move here wanting Bletchingley's postcard and Redhill's commute, and eventually admit which one they got.
