Hanslope
Hanslope is technically Milton Keynes, in roughly the way a cathedral is technically a building. Its church spire is the tallest in Buckinghamshire even after lightning took the top off in 1804, so the village has spent six centuries looking down on the surrounding countryside and sees no reason to stop. Half a mile down the road the government runs a communications centre out of the old manor park, which gives the parish the neighbours least likely to pop round for a chat. There is no station, and that suits the buyers who wanted a Milton Keynes salary without ever having to say they live in Milton Keynes.
