Carshalton
Carshalton is a Surrey village that got posted into south London and has never opened the letter. The ponds, the flint church and the antique shops put on a very convincing show of the countryside, right up until the A232 drives a bus through the middle of it. The spring by the churchyard is called Anne Boleyn's Well, though the duller explanation is that someone mangled the word Boulogne. Carshalton kept the queen, which is the whole town in one decision.
