Aveley
Aveley is inside the M25 and just outside London, which is where the post-war overspill was put and where its grandchildren now pay Essex council tax while still driving into London every morning. Its most famous resident is a mammoth, dug out of a clay pit on Sandy Lane and shipped straight to the Natural History Museum, so even the oldest local eventually got the move back into town. Everyone else took the semi with a drive, the bus to Lakeside and the motorway within earshot, and unlike the mammoth, nobody is asking to be moved.
