Chafford Hundred
Chafford Hundred is what happens when the cement companies finish with a hillside and the housebuilders move into the holes. The station has a skybridge straight into Lakeside, which tells you exactly what the planners thought everyone would be doing with their Saturdays. The old chalk pits became a nature park, so the best views in the place are of the bits nobody built on. Its best-known landmark is a roundabout named after a treacle mine, and that is as close as Chafford Hundred gets to folklore.
