Wembury
Wembury is what happens when a farming village realises it has a beach and starts charging for the view. The National Trust has spent decades making sure nothing ruins the coastline, which mostly means nothing ruins the coastline and nothing else happens either. Bungalows sit on plots that face the water, occupied by people who spent thirty years earning the right to do very little in front of it, very slowly. Plymouth is fifteen minutes up the road, close enough to visit and far enough to feel smug about not living there.
