Wargrave

Wargrave is Henley-on-Thames with the volume turned down, apart from Regatta week, when Henley's traffic comes straight through its high street. The river is why everyone bought here, and it is also why Wargrave Marsh lives up to its name some winters. Paul Daniels lived here, and the village has been doing a trick of its own ever since: persuading buyers that a branch-line station whose main job is getting them to Twyford counts as being on the way to London.
