Lindford, Hampshire

Lindford sits a mile from Bordon and has spent its whole existence defending that mile. The post still arrives addressed to Bordon, and residents correct it on every form they fill in, with the weary patience of people who know the Royal Mail will never learn. Past the River Wey and the old mill at Headley, most of it is post-war and modern housing, bought by people who wanted a village and now drive to everything a village is supposed to have.
