Kilburn, London
Kilburn High Road was paved by the Romans as the way out of London, and it has been carrying people straight past Kilburn ever since. The road is also the border between Camden and Brent, so each side can blame the other for the state of it without crossing over. The priory that gave Kilburn its name was dissolved so thoroughly that its only trace is Abbey Road in St John's Wood, and the tube station called Kilburn is in Brondesbury Park. Even the landmarks moved somewhere with a better postcode.
