Fernhurst
Fernhurst is a West Sussex village that gets its post, its trains and most of its self-image from Haslemere, a town in the next county. The highest hill in Sussex rises behind the green, and the path to the summit starts at the Red Lion, which puts the pub before the view. Lord Haw-Haw honeymooned here, and he is the one famous visitor the village has never put on a tea towel.
